The 2023 AEMA Conference will be hosted by the School of Art, Communication, and English at the University of Sydney. All sessions of the conference will be accessible via Zoom. All sessions will be held in the John Woolley Building, which can be located on the Camperdown Campus map.
Conference Dinner
The Conference Dinner will be held at Wayward Brewery, 1 Gehrig Lane, Camperdown. This is a short 15-20 minute walk from the John Woolley Building, and we will all walk down together following the close of sessions on Thursday.
Accommodation
Sydney has a wide range of accommodation to suit all budgets, and it is recommended that interstate and international attendees arrange for accommodation close to the university to save on transport costs. The following is a range of commercial options located within a short walk of the university.

Transport
For interstate and international attendees, Sydney Airport is located in the suburb of Mascot, which is between 20-40 minutes away from the University of Sydney depending on transport options. The train from International/Domestic station is a frequent and convenient service; cost is approximately $20 AUD for a one-way ticket. It is recommended to alight at Central station (3 stops) and walk to Stand M at Railway Square on George St (10 minutes). From here, there are numerous frequent bus routes which travel up Parramatta Rd; cost is $3.20 AUD one way. There are three possible stops for access to Sydney University, it is recommended to alight at the Footbridge Theatre (4 stops) when attending the conference. Please note that in Sydney all public transport is paid by Opal Card or contactless payment (no cash), you will need to tap on and off, and buses are entered through the front door and exited through the back. Taxis and Uber also operate throughout the city.
